Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story is the fourth season of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s true-crime anthology: the 1892 Fall River axe murders of Andrew and Abby Borden and the trial of Lizzie Borden — the first woman to headline a Monster season. Ella Beatty plays Lizzie Borden, with Charlie Hunnam as Andrew Borden, Rebecca Hall as Abby Borden, Vicky Krieps, Billie Lourd and Sarah Paulson. All eight episodes were released September 17, 2026.

Its opening was the biggest of any original on this desk except the show at No. 1: 1.35 billion minutes in the week of September 21–27, No. 2 on Nielsen’s overall chart. In the following week (September 28–October 4) it added 550 million minutes, No. 6 among originals, and it was still on Netflix’s global chart in its fourth week.

The anthology takes a new subject each season. No Season 5 subject had been announced in the sources checked as of October 22, 2026.
