Davies Daily is a news and media outlet published in Orange County, California. It is the media arm of DMC LLC — Davies Media Conglomerate, the Davies family company that also runs Davies Babies and Davies Doggies. This page is the whole of the masthead: who publishes the Daily, what it covers, and the rules it works by.
The Rule
The Daily has one editorial rule, and it is printed under the nameplate on every page: Just The Fact No Opinion. Stories report what happened, what was said, and what the numbers are — with the source named. The Daily prints no editorials, makes no endorsements, and takes no side for the reader to borrow. Thats what your own mind is for.
The Desks
Sports — MMA and boxing, baseball, football, and basketball, covered game by game. Politics — domestic and foreign. World News. Entertainment — movies, television, and music, including the box-office charts. Horoscopes — a fresh set of readings for all twelve signs, published every morning. Davies Daily Wagers — the odds the major sportsbooks are posting, printed with the date they were read. The Daily posts the prices; it does not take wagers.
How The Daily Works
Every story carries an image, and every image carries its credit — the photographer and the license for sourced photographs, or the Daily’s own name for its illustrations. People in photographs are shown by their faces: when a picture is cropped, it is cropped on the face. Sources are named in the story, and figures are printed as the source published them. When the Daily gets something wrong, it corrects the story. If you spot an error, the contact page has a topic for exactly that.
Who Publishes It
The Daily is published by Michael Davies. Some of its reporting is his own — the footage of the object over the plaza in Cypress, published as TicTac Object Over The Plaza, was shot and is credited to him as a Davies Daily original.
